Frequency Regulation Model of Bulk Power Systems With Energy Storage

This paper presents a Frequency Regulation (FR) model of large interconnected power system including Energy Storage Systems (ESSs) such as Battery (BESSs) and Flywheel (FESSs), considering all relevant stages in the frequency control process. Communication delays are considered transmission signals FR loop ESSs, their State Charge (SoC) management is considered. The system, ESSs SoC components modelled detail from perspective. validated using real data, based on practical transient stability North American Eastern Interconnection (NAEI), results show that proposed accurately represents process network ESS, can be used for long-term studies. impact communication ESS facilities Area Control Error (ACE) also studied discussed, well computational efficiency model.
